Local Coordinators

At GEAR UP Southern West Virginia (GEAR UP SWV), we believe that those who live and work in our communities best understand their unique needs and strengths. That’s why embedding Local Coordinators within each community is a key part of our approach. Local Coordinators play a vital role in connecting schools, students, and families with college and career readiness opportunities. They serve as on-the-ground leaders who coordinate program activities, support educators, and help implement GEAR UP initiatives in their schools. By collaborating with teachers, administrators, and community partners, Local Coordinators ensure that students have access to the tools, experiences, and encouragement they need to plan for and pursue education beyond high school. Their local insight and dedication help bring the mission of GEAR UP SWV to life every day.
