GEAR UP SWV 9th-Grade Commitment to Graduate Event to Feature Dr. Adolph Brown

Athens, WV — GEAR UP Southern West Virginia is proud to present the 9th-Grade Promise to Graduate event, on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. Rising 9th grade students from Mercer, Monroe, Summers, Raleigh and Wyoming Counties will convene in Beckley for a memorable presentation. The celebration will feature renowned educator and motivational speaker, Dr. Adolph Brown.

Dr. Brown, who has overcome significant challenges to reach his full potential, will deliver an inspiring address to 9th-grade students from across five counties in southern West Virginia. His message will focus on the importance of resilience, the power of education, and the commitment required to overcome adversity and succeed in life.

The GEAR UP SWV Promise to Graduate event is a critical part of our ongoing efforts to encourage students to stay focused on their educational goals and to underscore the importance of graduating high school. This event not only celebrates the commitment of these young students but also empowers them with the tools and inspiration needed to navigate the challenges they may face on their journey to graduation.
