GEAR UP SWV Summer Camp Registration Opens

Athens, W.Va. – GEAR UP Southern West Virginia (GEAR UP SWV) is excited to announce its 2025 summer camps, designed to provide cohort students with enriching experiences exploring careers, developing new skills, and staying engaged during the summer months. These camps are free for GEAR UP SWV students. Registration opens this Monday, March 17, 2025, and families are encouraged to sign up early as space is limited. 

Who Can Attend? 

All students in the eighth and ninth grade during the 2024-2025 school year who attend public schools in Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, or Wyoming counties are part of the GEAR UP SWV cohort and eligible to participate in these exciting camps. 

In 2025 GEAR UP SWV students have several summer camp opportunities to choose from, hosted at Concord University, New River CTC, and WVU Tech!

• WV Adventure 
• All Torqued Up 
• Sewing with Fire 
• Innovators of Tomorrow 
• Summer (Cool) Academy (overnight) 
• STEM Academy (overnight)

Important Details: 

• Registration opens March 17, 2025. 
• The deadline for applications is June 2, 2025. 
• Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early.
